Puppy School FAQs

Is my puppy able to attend?

If your puppy is between 8 and 16 weeks old and had their first vaccination, your puppy is more than welcome to join Beau's Puppy School!

Are vaccinations required?

Yes. Puppies must have their first vaccination to attend. You will have to send it via email (info@beaus.org.au) or bring a copy on the night of the 1st class.

What my puppy will learn?

  • Introduction to socialisation & strategies for success
  • Healthcare (Including vaccinations, worming, desexing, nutrition & dental care)
  • Toilet training
  • Basic training & introduction to positive reinforcement training
  • Redirecting behaviours (Barking, biting, jumping & digging)
  • Grooming
  • Enrichment tips & tricks
  • Leash walking & walking restraints
  • Tips and tricks to help any other challenges you may be facing

Where are the classes going to take place?

At Beau's Pet Hotel indoor facilities - 1 Navaid Rd, Adelaide Airport - SA, 5950

What is the duration of the course?

One hour class over 5 weeks | Evenings - 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm

What should I bring along to class?

  • A mat - We find it makes training easier if your puppy is familiar with their own mat
  • Favourite treats
  • A lead and harness/collar for your puppy
  • Copy of their first vaccination (If you have not provided one through email prior to class)

How many people can attend Beau's Puppy School?

So we can all stay safe, we are limiting the number of people coming to the classes. We would appreciate it if a maximum of three people attend the classes over the next 5 weeks. If you require over 3 people to attend please contact us directly.

Can I bring my puppy's favorite toy?

If you find your puppy is more motivated with a toy rather than food you are welcome to bring something along. We will provide a source of enrichment for each puppy during class while we're going through information (I.e. a kong, pig ear or something to help distract them).

Can my puppy play off-leash?

We do try to provide some off-leash playtime for each puppy, however, we will do this at our discretion to ensure none of the puppies feel overwhelmed. We will match playgroups based on temperaments for short bursts to ensure everyone has a fair amount of time to socialise safely.

If you do not want your puppy to come off-leash please let us know as we are happy to accommodate your request.

How much Beau's Puppy School will cost me?

The investment for Beau's Puppy School is $ 160. All profits from Beau’s Pet Hotel are directed back to Guide Dogs SA/NT, so when you book your pup for Puppy School or any other Beau’s service, you are helping to provide more services to South Australians living with disability.

What are your payment options?

We accept cash and EFTPOS - We will call you approx. 1x week prior to class starting to secure the payment and your puppy's spot in class, if you wish to pay cash on the night please let us know.

I already paid for my enrolment, but I won't be able to attend the classes with my puppy. Do I get a refund?

If you advise us at least 7 days before the 1st class and we can fill in your spot in the course, we will arrange the refund for you.

I already paid for my enrolment, but I cannot attend it due to COVID-19 isolation.

If you are required to isolate, you must not attend Beau's Puppy School. Please notify us as soon as possible, and we will enrol your puppy for the next class date if it is safe to do so.

In case my puppy and I miss the graduation night. Am I able to get my puppy's certificate and gift bag afterward?

Absolutely! We will hold your puppy's certificate and gift bag for the next 4 weeks after the graduation day.

Can I give my Full-day daycare free pass to some else our redeem for my other dog?

Beau’s Pet Hotel free pass not transferable.

After Puppy School, will my dog be suitable for daycare?

Once your puppy has had all 3x of their initial vaccinations they will be suitable to join us in daycare. Your puppy will be temperament tested on the first DayCare visit, which allows us to see your puppy’s suitability as well as the types of dogs she/he would get along with. This is a behavioural test with our trained staff to ensure the safest environment for your puppy whilst in Daycare with us. More information on temperament testing can be found here.
